Starting Wednesday, January 13th we'll be offering 30-minute, in-person collection browsing appointments. Collection browsing appointments allow in-person visit options for individuals and family groups to browse our collection, pickup reserved items, take home program activities and crafts, and complete checkout of materials with library staff. Masks are required for ages two and up. Our newest StoryWalk is up! Start at the gazebo and walk along the path through Brownie Park to read Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner, illustrated by Christopher Silas Neal. Learn about what squirrels, snowshoe hares, bees, and other animals do in the winter time. Presented by Norwalk Easter Public Library and City of Norwalk Parks and Recreation. The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

Norwalk Easter Public Library will close and offer curbside service for one day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020. This adjustment will offer customer service and social distancing while the library’s meeting room is in use as a polling site on General Election Day. Curbside service is easy, and available every day! Just call or email requests in advance, or place holds online at https://norwalk.biblionix.com/catalog/. Drive up to the designated curbside parking area and call 515-981-0217 to request delivery of your items, and staff will bring them out to your car. Want your items on hold, even though the library is closed today? We'll bring them to your car from 10:00AM-6:30 PM. Just park in one of the designated spots. If you haven't already placed a hold or need other assistance, we will help as time allows! Just give us a call at (515) 981-0217. We offer this service every day, but today we are only providing curbside service while the library is used as a polling place.
Our newest Take-Home Storytime and Take-Home Kids Crafts are available! The take-home storytime theme is Oceans, and includes a cute coral reef craft, stickers, a song to sing, and suggested books about oceans and sea creatures! Plus, check out our Facebook videos or YouTube Channel for Mallory singing songs that go with the theme! The craft activity is Fuzzy Posters to color. Kids and teens can each get one fuzzy poster and a set of markers.

Reminder that on Election Day, Tuesday November 3rd, the library will be closed to the public and offering curbside hold pickup only. To get items that day, place a hold online or call the library, and come to pick them up after you are notified that they are ready. Just park in the designated spot and call the library, we'll check out your items and bring them to your car.
