We are happy to announce that starting today, the Library District will be partially reopening 24 of our 25 library buildings . We know that you come to our libraries to learn, to grow, to find community, and to pursue your dreams, and we are here to help! We have missed you and we look forward to serving you in our branches again, but for a while, this will be a different kind of library experience than you're used to. Social distancing will be the new normal, and to ens...ure everyone’s safety, there will be no available spaces for reading or studying, and limited computer access, as we have had to move our computers six feet apart. Browsing isn’t currently available because we need to keep our items sanitary, but our staff will help you select your items and pick them up at the library desk. Thank you for being patient with us as we figure this out together . We also encourage you to take advantage of our Curbside Pick-Up Service; stream and download materials at LVCCLD.org; and enjoy our entertaining and educational library programs at YouTube.com/TheLibraryDistrict. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Library District is closed effective Monday, March 16, until further notice. Customers are asked NOT to return materials at this time. You will NOT be charged late fees. Our eResources will remain available and Wi-Fi is available in all library parking lots.
As Clark County begins to see an increase in diagnosed cases of the COVID-19 virus, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is taking steps to protect our customers, staff, volunteers, and community partners. At this time, all of our branch libraries will remain open and operating on regular hours. What does this mean for your next visit with us?... - All LVCCLD events and programs have been suspended through June 30. - We are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting at all library branches, including high-touch or shared surfaces. - We are ensuring hand sanitizer is available for customers and staff. - Tutoring is still available as are the branch study rooms. - Makerspaces and Tech Labs will remain open. - We are removing all high-touch items such as toys, robotics, Legos, Duplos, and kits from the children’s area in all libraries. - Volunteers are still welcome. - Book donations are still welcome. - Our 24/7 website, LVCCLD.org, is always open with access to free books, movies, and music! Helping to protect the safety of our community is of the utmost importance to the Library District and we thank you for your patience during this time. This strategy is in keeping with the social distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC to limit the spread of the virus. The CDC defines social distancing as remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others. You can get the latest updates on the Library District’s response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) on our website: https://lvccld.org//library-districts-response-to-the-cor/
