Vote! With Election Day less than a week away, Textile Center Shop Associate Debbie Johnson’s Vote is her first-ever quilt, and many of the blocks she created represent historic dates in U.S. Civil Rights history. As a child, Debbie says her father and grandmother told her that voting is not an option, but rather a civic duty. The quilt will be on display in a front window of Textile Center during this election week. In addition to her role on Textile Center’s staff, Debbie also serves as president of the Minnesota Basket Weavers Guild.

"Pomo basketry became a source of pride as the Pomo people perfected every weave and size. The largest known Pomo basket can hold four women standing. The tiniest is held at the Sutter’s Fort Museum in Sacramento, displayed next to a grain of rice. The design is only visible with a magnifying glass." https://www.firstpeoplesfund.org//perfecting-and-preservin
