It's #ComputerSecurityDay! Computer Security Day began in 1988, around the time that computers were becoming commonplace, even if they were yet to become ubi...quitous in homes. While hacking and viruses have virtually been around since the early days of modern computing, evolving and increasingly sophisticated technologies began to see more applications, and therefore more security risks due to the simple fact that more data was at risk as computers found their way into banks, government offices, and businesses. At City, University of London we offer a MSc Programme in Cyber Security. The Postgraduate programme aims to help you develop an in-depth understanding of Cyber Security from leading experts in the field, whilst practising ethical hacking, penetration testing and using investigative tools for revealing threats and vulnerabilities. Cyber Security Alumni Elizabeth shares her story through 3 objects, symbolising her past, present and future. She also tells her aspirations to make a difference in the world through the next step of her career journey. https://youtu.be/MaxYxz9euh0

Congratulations to Rohit Sagoo, Lecturer in Children’s Nursing at City Health Sciences, who has been recognised with a Points of Light award from the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, for his outstanding volunteering with ‘British Sikh Nurses' The daily Point of Light award recognises outstanding individual volunteers in the UK who are making a change in their community. Commenting on the award, Rohit said:... As the founder of ‘British Sikh Nurses’, I am overwhelmed to have been considered for a Points of Light Award by the Prime Minister. I have worked hard to bridge the gap between the NHS and the South Asian Community by promoting and raising awareness of health and wellbeing issues that affect the South Asian Community and it is a privilege, as a nurse, to care for the needs of the South Asian community. I cannot thank the Prime Minister enough for the recognition of my services to nursing. http://ow.ly/82gH50CwFt6

"We were told at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic that the virus did not discriminate. But the truth is that COVID-19 has brought to light the structural inequalities in healthcare that have existed for decades." The City Law School's Dr Adrienne Yong and Dr Sabrina Germain say the current disruptions to the provision of care have shown that the traditional equal access approach has never translated to an equal experience for all. http://ow.ly/jjLH50CwIap
