The Genetics and Genomics Student Interest Group invites you to hear Dr. Leroy Hood, MD, PhD Monday November 9, 2020 7 pm- 8pm Dr. Leroy Hood is a world-renowned trailblazer in genetics research and healthcare. He founded and served as the first president for the Institute for Systems Biology, created over 15 biotechnology companies and has co- authored textbooks in biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, genetics and systems biology. He and his colleagues developed the... instruments used in the Human Genome Project’s first successful mapping of the Human Genome. Dr. Hood holds 18 honorary degrees from prestigious universities within the US and has been awarded several international awards as well. Currently, Dr. Hood is launching a 1 million patient genome/phenome project and is working to integrate quantitative medicine into the US Health Care System. The G&GSIG is honored to host Dr. Hood.
