We were beyond excited to unpack our first delivery of new stock since before lockdown this morning! If you fancy borrowing one of our brand-new thrillers, we're open for public browsing between 10am-12 noon and 2-4pm today
COLLECT AND RETURN The safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers is very important. We’re reintroducing library services gradually, following public health advice. We know that one of the joys of libraries is being able to browse our shelves, however we must put your safety first which means that we are only able to offer ‘Collect and Return’ at present to ensure that items have been properly quarantined and sanitised. ‘Collect and Return’ will run from selected librari...es whilst we prepare our other libraries for reopening. To use Collect and Return: 1. Phone or e-mail one of the listed libraries to request specific titles or ask staff to choose a selection of items based on your interests 2. Staff will then contact you to arrange a date and time for you to come and collect your items, and return any you have at home Please note that we are currently unable to transfer stock between libraries, so the item/s must be in stock at the library you want to collect it/ them from. You can view our online catalogue here: https://hlh.spydus.co.uk/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/WPAC/HOME You don’t need to make a special trip to return your items if you aren’t collecting others at the same time, as we’re renewing all loans automatically. To use Collect and Return, please contact one of the libraries listed below. Please do not phone or e-mail before the date listed beside each library. If your local library is not listed, it remains closed at this time and information on opening dates will be issued as it becomes available. Happy Halloween from Fort William Library! Did you know that the library has its own resident ghost, Jamie? As the Daily Express reported in 1990, uncanny events have been happening since the library was built near the site of the old hanging tree: electric typewriters printing text upside down, books falling from the shelves, librarians being propelled out of the room by mysterious forces...Today Jamie has had some fun decorating the library windows!
Join Sally live on facebook for the first of her new weekly book reviews. She's kicking off with one of the great spooky reads: Dracula by Bram Stoker Remember you can download and read all of the books Sally reviews from the RB Digital App as part of your HLH Library membership!
"Happiness is always to be found in how we use our time day to day, the people we speak to, the music we listen to, the things we laugh at." (And, we'd add, the books we read.) https://www.penguin.co.uk//authors-uk-lockdown-measures-me
