#BookWeekNI - Life Stories: Biography, Autobiography, Reminiscence What would the title of your autobiography be? #Take15 and think about it!
#BookWeekNI is all about celebrating books and bringing books into people's lives. When people develop dementia it may be because of Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease or a variety of other conditions. As the dementia becomes more severe, many things that an individual used to enjoy become too confusing and challenging, this includes reading books, magazines and newspapers. But people with dementia can still have books that make reading and looking at picture books ...an enjoyable experience. Omagh Library has a collection of books from Pictures to Share which only feature pictures that are more likely to be understood and enjoyed by people with dementia. They are simple, clear and often colourful, with no confusing backgrounds or content that is difficult to interpret. See what titles are available here https://bit.ly/34kc5sd #take15 to reminisce and connect Libraries NI BBC Northern Ireland Alzheimer's Society Northern Ireland Dementia NI
Reminiscence and life stories make compelling reading and every one of us has a story to tell. This is just a selection from our Heritage Department #BookWeekNI #Take15
