Look what Santa has delivered to the library! If your child has dropped off their letter in the express mailbox to Santa, you might have a reply waiting for you!

The library's Grab & Go bags for kids have been going out so fast, that we have decided to do one more before Christmas. There will be a new Grab & Go for the kids this week. This will be the last one before Christmas. Call the library at 523-5261 to get one!

Kids week 2 Grab and Go Holiday Bags are available! We still have some adult ones available too if you have not picked one up yet! Contact the library if you would like to reserve one 319-523-5261!

The librarians have been missing our storytime and storytime friends. We have put together storytime bags that contain 10 books and activities that you can check out and take home. We know nothing is quite the same as storytime at the library, we hope by putting these bags together will help with storytime at home! Holiday Happenings @ the library The Keck Memorial Library is attempting to generate some Holiday Spirit! The staff has been hard at work coming up with ideas to get you ready for the holidays. To lift your spirits, they have created Grab & Go bags with easy crafts for adults and kids to make. The kids Grab & Go bags can be completed as a family project or can be done individually. The bags will have the supplies to make 2 different crafts. Starting November 30, 202...0, the first set of bags will be available upon request. Reserves will be taken for pick up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting Thursday December 3, any remaining Grab & Go bags will be left in the foyer for anyone to take. On Monday December 7, a second kids Grab & Go bag will be available for reserve and pick up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting Thursday December 10, any remaining grab bags will be left in the foyer for anyone to take. We want to include everyone, so we also have a Grab & Go for adults. It will have supplies to complete 3 different Christmas Crafts. Starting November 30, 2020, bags will be available upon request. Reserves will be taken for pick up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting Thursday December 3, any remaining Grab & Go bags will be left in the foyer for anyone to take. All Grab & Go bags will have all the supplies needed for each craft with the exception of glue. A limited number of bags will be available. The library staff were a little concerned that Santa’s Mailbox may not show up this year. The library has had to close to the public due to the increased cases of Covid. But Santa is not one to disappoint! On Tuesday, December 1, Santa’s Mailbox appeared in the library’s foyer! Santa’s Mailbox is back at the Keck Memorial Library available for all the children to send letters for express delivery straight to the North Pole! There is special stationery, envelopes and ...stamps available for kids to send that special letter to Santa! However, you don’t have to have the special stationery to send Santa a letter. You can use your own paper and envelope to send your message to Santa using his mailbox. Librarians often find mail from the North Pole addressed to children who have sent letters to Santa using the special mailbox. Children sending their letters to Santa using Santa’s Mailbox at the library are encouraged to make a return visit to the library. Santa often sends a letter back! The library foyer is always open, so children should find easy access to the mailbox. If you have any questions, call the library at 523-5261.
